Tigers Bounce Back With BC Win
2/10/09 - From 20 feet, 9 inches--and often farther--Clemson guard Terrence Oglesby can be a demoralizing force for opponents. "It seems to drain them," Tigers center Raymond Sykes said Tuesday night after Oglesby hit six 3-pointers, scoring 18 of his 21 points in the second half to lead No. 12 Clemson to an 87-77 victory over Boston College. "You can tell by looking at their faces," he added. Trevor Booker had 21 points and 13 rebounds, K.C. Rivers added 17 points and Sykes scored 12 with nine rebounds for the Tigers (20-3, 6-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). Oglesby went 6-for-10 from 3-point range, including a four-point play with 11:54 left to put Clemson ahead for good at 61-57... Read more |

No. 10 Clemson
Drops No. 3 Duke, 74-47
2/04/09 - Trevor Booker scored 21 points, Terrence Oglesby had five 3-pointers and No. 10 Clemson beat No. 4 Duke 74-47 on Wednesday night, the first time the Tigers had consecutive wins over the Blue Devils in 13 years.
Clemson (19-2, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) used a 20-8 run over the last 8 minutes of the first to take a 33-21 lead. The Tigers extended the lead to as many as 23 points. Duke (19-3, 6-2) had won 22 straight over Clemson - most in blowout fashion - since the Tigers won three straight in the series in the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons. The Blue Devils' run of success ended last March in the ACC tournament semifinals when Clemson beat them 78-74. Booker and the Tigers made sure the regular-season streak ended at Littlejohn Coliseum... Read more |

Tigers Edge Hokies In Blacksburg
1/29/09 - Those questions about whether Clemson is for real? Forget 'em. K.C. Rivers hit seven 3-pointers and scored 29 points and the 12th-ranked Tigers rallied from a 15-point deficit in the second half to beat Virginia Tech 86-82 on Thursday night. The Tigers (18-2, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) used an 18-0 run to turn the big deficit into the lead with 10 minutes left, then outscored the Hokies 8-2 over the final 2:08. It was the Tigers' second straight win after losses to Wake Forest and at North Carolina, and was all the more impressive because it came in front of a packed house primed to see their team climb into the Top 25, and despite a career-best 37 points from the Hokies' Malcolm Delaney.... No. 10 Clemson Defeats Georgia Tech, 73-59
1/25/09 - Despite his crowd-pleasing, long-distance shooting, Terrence Oglesby knows he's got work to do from the outside. The Tigers' "TO" knocked down five 3-pointers and scored 18 points Sunday night as No. 10 Clemson ended its two-game losing streak with a 73-59 win over Georgia Tech. Oglesby was glad for the victory, yet bothered by his cold - by his standards - 5-of-13 performance outside the arc against the Yellow Jackets. "I wasn't hitting the shots," he said. "I'm getting a lot of open shots and it's discouraging because it's still that close" to going in... Read more |

Clemson Neutralizes NC State, 63-51 To Move To 16-0
1/10/09 - Trevor Booker scored 23 points and No. 12 Clemson improved to 16-0 with a 63-51 victory over North Carolina State on Saturday. The Tigers (2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) are within a win of tying the school's best start, accomplished in 1986-87 and matched two years ago. It won't be easy, though, with undefeated and fourth-ranked Wake Forest up next at Littlejohn Coliseum on Jan. 17. Clemson struggled until Booker's inside dominance and a smothering defense took its toll on the Wolfpack.... Read more |

12th-Ranked Tigers Take Out Tide, 66-59
1/06/09 - Trevor Booker had 19 points to help No. 12 Clemson remain unbeaten with a 66-59 victory over Alabama on Tuesday night. The Tigers (15-0) kept pace with their 17-0 start two years ago when they were the nation's last unbeaten. It took a stellar defensive effort down the stretch to hold off the Crimson Tide (10-4). Alabama led 42-41 after Yamene Coleman's basket with 14:16 to go. Then Clemson set off on 14-0 run to take control. Rivers had two jumpers in the stretch while Terrence Ogleby made a runner and a 3-pointer. After Senario Hillman hit a free throw to break Alabama's drought, freshman Andre Young made a three to give Clemson its largest lead, 58-43.... Read more |
