Clemson Rolls at Miami, 91-72
12/21/08 - A couple of spurts was all No. 25 Clemson needed to keep its unbeaten record intact. K.C. Rivers scored 28 points and the Tigers easily overcame an early 12-point deficit on the way to beating mistake-prone Miami 91-72 Sunday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams. Terrence Oglesby added 17 points for the Tigers (12-0, 1-0), who kept pace with No. 3 Pittsburgh for Division I's best record. Pitt stayed perfect by beating Florida State earlier Sunday. Clemson used a 16-0 run over a 2 1/2-minute stretch of the first half to take the lead for good. And after Miami clawed within 52-47, the Tigers -- on a 3-pointer by Oglesby, then 3's on consecutive possessions by Rivers -- scored nine straight points in a 2-minute span of the second half to put the Hurricanes away.... Clemson Clobbers North Florida, Moves To 11-0
12/16/08 - Trevor Booker had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots, and No. 25 Clemson moved to 11-0 for the third time in four seasons with a 76-36 victory over North Florida on Tuesday night.
The Tigers are 49-0 under coach Oliver Purnell over the past four seasons in games played before Dec. 22. Terrence Oglesby and Raymond Sykes added 10 points each for Clemson, which figures to face a sterner test Sunday to keep its streak going in its Atlantic Coast Conference opener at Miami.... This is the first time Clemson has ranked #1 since the RPI calculations have been computed on a daily basis. Clemson Tabbed Fifth by ACC Media in Preseason Basketball Poll
10/26/08 - The Clemson men's basketball team was predicted to finish fifth in the ACC preseason poll, according to media members in attendance at Sunday's operation basketball event at the Marriott Marquis. North Carolina was a unanimous choice as the ACC's #1 team, followed by Duke, Wake Forest, and Miami. The Tigers are coming off an impressive 2007-08 season.
