Purnell's Squad Notches 71-64 Road Win Over NC State
02/17/08 - K.C. Rivers and Terrence Oglesby knocked down the big shots when Clemson needed them the most. Then, Sam Perry reached his hand up and blocked one that North Carolina State needed. Rivers scored five of his 17 points during the decisive run, Perry blocked a key J.J. Hickson shot inches shy of the rim and the Tigers held North Carolina State scoreless during the final 2 1/2 minutes of their 71-64 victory Saturday. "This is a tough team. 02/14/08 - Cliff Hammonds scored 22 points, shooting 4-of-6 on 3-pointers, to lead Clemson to a 82-67 victory over Georgia Tech on Thursday night. The Tigers (18-6, 6-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) scored the first eight points of the game and never trailed as they moved into a tie for third place in the ACC and improved their chances to make their first NCAA tournament since 1998. Tigers Set School Record in 82-51 Win Over Virginia
02/07/08 - K.C. Rivers hit eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 32 points Thursday night as Clemson embarassed reeling, inept Virginia 82-51. The Tigers (17-5, 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) took command quickly with sizzling shooting that lasted all game. They outscored Virginia 27-5 over a span of about 7 minutes in the first half, connecting on 10 of 13 shots overall and seven 3-pointers. Rivers had three, Cliff Hammonds and Terrence Oglesby two 3s each in the run, which gave the Tigers a 36-14 lead. 02/02/08 - Cliff Hammonds scored 14 points and led five Tigers in double figures as Clemson beat Boston College 78-56 in Atlantic Coast Conference action Saturday night. The Tigers (16-5, 4-3 ACC), who never trailed and saw just one tie at 29 late in the first half, scored 30 points off 20 Boston College turnovers. K.C. Rivers added 13 points, James Mays had 12, David Potter added 11 and Trevor Booker had 10 for Clemson. Tigers Rally to Down Wake in OT
1/22/08 - Cliff Hammond's three-point play with just over a minute to go in overtime gave Clemson the lead for good as the Tigers beat Wake Forest 80-75 on Tuesday night. Terrence Oglesby hit two 3-pointers in the extra period, with each one putting Clemson (15-4, 3-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) back in the lead. 1/15/08 - Terrence Oglesby had four 3-pointers and No. 24 Clemson beat North Carolina State 70-54 on Tuesday night. Oglesby hit three 3-pointers in double overtime to save the Tigers (14-3, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) last Saturday night in a 97-85 victory over Florida State. Booker Named ACC Player of the Week
1/14/08 - Clemson center Trevor Booker has been named ACC Player of the Week by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Booker scored 61 points in two games last week. Booker's 61 points were the most in consecutive games by a Tiger since Edward Scott had 61 in wins over Virginia and Florida State in 2002-03. Booker had 32 points in a loss to Charlotte last Wednesday, then had 29 in a double overtime win against Florida State. He shot 20-26 from the field in the two games combined. His 61 points in back to back games were the most by a Clemson post player since Horace Grant had 62 over consecutive games in 1986-87 ... Read more |
